EXPEDITION SAIL CHART & COURSE BOX
Use wind ranges from your sailmaker and recorded empirical data from Strip Chart to determine which sail is the fastest for a given wind speed and angle. Then create a Sail Chart which Expedition will use to tell you the correct sail for your current leg as well as for later legs of the race.
ABOVE - EXPEDITION SAIL CHART:
Each sail in the inventory is assigned a color and the color bubble covers the True Wind Angle and True Wind Speed range where that sail is most effective. Apparent Wind Angle lines can be a useful cross-reference, since your boat, sails, and crew 'feel' the Apparent Wind Angle rather than the True Wind Angle.
Note the white circles in the Sail Chart showing: Present Heading (empty), Mark Bearing (m), and Next Mark Bearing (n).
ABOVE - EXPEDITION COURSE BOX:
Shows range, bearing, true wind angle, apparent wind angle, time on port/starboard, and sail selection from Sail Chart for each leg of the course so you and your crew always knows what move is coming up next.
